President’s Note
If you hadn’t noticed, summer is finally here. With that is the parade season and our participation in local parades in order to get the word out for Shriners Children’s and the good they do for the kids that go to our hospitals.
I want to give a huge thank you to our 1st Vice President Noble Matt Alexander for everything he does to make it happen with the carts. Noble Matt has spent a lot of time and money on getting the carts
ready for the parade season and continues to help by getting the carts to the parades. He transported a couple of the carts all the way to Newport for the Dory Days parade and to Prineville for the Crooked River festivities held there and will be doing that again for the upcoming La Pine Frontier Days parade on July 4th. Thank you Noble Matt.
When I first joined Shriners a few years ago I really didn’t understand the importance of the parades and the units/clubs that participate in them. What I saw was a bunch of funny carts, ATVs, clowns, a couple of bands and other groups acting funny. But I joined a couple of those groups and started participating, started being around the groups and being involved. Then what I slowly started to learn about was the dedication of the Shriners, their Ladies and their families to an incredible cause, much bigger than participating in a local civic function. The importance of getting out, being seen in the parades which adds to the marketing and recognition for Shriners Children’s and the incredible work that we do as a team. So, if you have some time, please come out to the parades and drive one of our silly carts, go up and down the street, wave at the crowd yelling ”Shriners! We love you!” and enjoy the fact that we are doing something good, something productive and helping with our incredibly important cause, the kids.

Yours in Faith,
John L Nerski, PP
COSC President

COSC SCROLLS
The COSC Scrolls is a new section wherein we can share updates of our Nobles and their ladies, just
as a way of letting everyone know what is going on. As many of our members are not able to attend
our meeting and socialize, we can still keep everyone up to date. If you have some information you
would like to share, please contact Terry.

The Pandemic, contrary to popular belief, is still among us and is still affecting our Nobility. Still be
cautious and take whatever steps you deem necessary. Hopefully, when you do come down with it, it
will be a mild case and you will bounce back quickly with no lingering side effects.
